Follow these simple tutorials to learn how to use iRecordMusic, and start recording audio.

Before You Begin

Please make sure you have installed iRecordMusic and any extra media players, as outlined in the System Requirements. You don't need to change any settings in the iRecordMusic preferences, but feel free to do so.

Recording from BBC Radio

You will need to have installed the free RealPlayer from http://www.real.com as the BBC radio player uses it.

  1. Launch iRecordMusic

  2. Visit http://www.bbc.com/radio in the iRecordMusic browser window

  3. Cick the link 'Listen to Radio 1' with the speaker icon

  4. A pop-up window will appear with the BBC radio player (uses RealPlayer) and after a few seconds, audio will start playing. Notice how the button in the browser window has changed from light blue to dark blue.

  5. Select 'Record' from the menu and enter anything for the session information.

  6. You are now recording. Notice how the button in the browser window has changed from blue to red.

  7. Select 'Stop' from the menu to stop recording. A progress window will appear, detailing the encoding progress, tagging and playlist status.

By default, unless you have made changes in the Preferences, the recording will be added to an iTunes playlist called 'iRecordMusic'.

  8. Congratulations! You have made your first recording with iRecordMusic!
